One of the dynamic elements of this site will be the use of computer generated models to visualize and demonstrate the instruments and how they worked. Over the coming months we will be creating models of several of the instruments at the Jaipur observatory and animating them to show how they were used to mark the passage of the sun, and the celestial objects of the night sky.

The samples on this page are based on the Great Samrat Yantra at the Jaipur observatory, and give a hint of the direction we are going. The initial work of this section will be in the form of single images and animations, but in the future we hope to have an interactive format through which you can manipulate the model yourself.
